  Once again, we have pleasure in presenting to the reader the fifth issue of e-SED (electronic version of Structural Engineering Digest). We completed the last four issues last year as per the requirements of the Governing Council of our Association. Now the GC has desired that we bring out the fifth electronic issue also. Panvel Viaduct, Maharashtra

 The Panvel Nadi viaduct, a 424 m long railway bridge is one of Asia’s tallest viaducts across the Panvel river on the Konkan railway line near Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. The tallest of the piers is about 64m above bed level. The bridge superstructure is a single-cell continuous prestressed concrete box girder with nine intermediate 40m spans and two end spans of 30m each. Read more..
